A Family Christmas Worship Event

by | Nov 22, 2016 | Holiday Season

Do you already have your Christmas tree up?

It seems like Christmas festivities begin earlier each year.  The turkey hasn’t made its grand appearance on the table but Christmas decorations are already in full swing.

When I asked a few people about why this is, I kept getting the same response, “I just don’t have enough time to get it all done. I have to start early.”

It’s true.  We live in a busy world where many things compete for our time and attention. That’s why I’m excited to share a brand-new family discipleship & worship resource with you.  It’s called Doorpost Songs.

Doorpost Songs are pulled straight from scripture and sound like the great worship music you listen to on the radio.  In fact, our ORBC Family Choir will be presenting some of them to you on Sunday, December 18 with Dave and Jess Ray

Out of these songs, a series of family worship devotionals that are simple, short, and easy to do, have been created to keep you on track during the busy Christmas season.

So what can you do to lead your family into a purposeful Christmas?

  1. Look for my blog post each week of the Christmas season that will link you to the week’s family devotional. Take the time to read and discuss this as a family.
  1.  Take seriously the scripture memory challenges and hide God’s Word in your hearts together.
  1.  Listen NOW to the music that will be presented on Sunday, December 18.  It’s scripture and a great source of encouragement while you are in the car or at home.

We believe so strongly that worship and discipleship begins in the home, and we want to give you the tools and training you need to lead your family. Let’s have a Christmas filled with purpose!
