The World’s One Hope

by | Mar 30, 2018 | Faith, What We Believe

Everything is breaking down. Your body, my body, and every other system in the universe. People age and pass away, possessions wear down and break, and everything generally goes the way of death and decay. There’s nothing truly going in the other direction. The 2nd Law of Thermodynamics states as much. The net sum of every system, no matter what other things may take place, is an increase in entropy, that is, greater disorder. In other words, life is a vapor and everything is fading away.

Beacon of Hope

Death, decay, and disorder. Everything breaking down. Doom, gloom, and eternal downers. Wow. You may feel like you clicked on the wrong headline. Yet, while there’s not much we can be sure of today, God has provided a beacon of hope. In a world destined to disappoint you, now is the time to cling to the One who never will. Share on X When you’re hurting or in distress, it’s hard to see His light. But it’s there, always.

God is in Control

When it comes to God, nothing happens without His knowledge and permission. While it’s hard to imagine why God allows difficult or painful things to happen, His character, revealed in the Bible, through the testament of generations, has shown that He is willing and able to sustain you through your darkest times.  You were not placed on this earth for no reason. Your life has meaning and God has a plan. Hope in Him.

You Are Beloved

How much does God love you? Enough to suffer and die for you. One of life’s hardest lessons is the permanence of the past. It can’t be changed, and mistakes can’t be unmade. But with God’s love, we can change the future. God cares about you and wants to see you happy and successful. No matter what others may think, you are valued beyond measure.

You Are Not Alone

Every person eventually faces the day when he or she may be alone, either due to a divorce, children moving out, or early retirement. The most painful obstacle you’ll have to overcome is that day of sudden quiet.  In those moments, drop to your knees in prayer and let His love pierce your soul. You are His child, and because of that, you are never walking alone.

Forgiveness is Full

God wants to forgive you and wants you to forgive yourself, releasing shame. One thing that often prevents us from accepting God’s forgiveness is our inability to forgive ourselves. You need to forgive yourself for your past failures, let God wipe your slate clean, and begin anew.

Life With Hope

When you study the Bible and develop a strong belief in God, you’ll know for certain that you have a secure future. God will never allow you to suffer beyond your own capabilities to handle it. There is nothing on this earth more certain than hope in God. He will never leave you or forsake you. He is your anchor and your wings, and with Him there is always hope.
