7 Tips for Strengthening Your Faith and Sharing the Gospel

by | Feb 11, 2025 | Faith

As Christians, one of the key tenets of our faith is to share it with others. This comes in many forms, but it all comes down to a few things: how full is your own cup, and how are you sharing that love? Evangelizing is not always easy for everyone, and sometimes we may find our own cups a little low. Here at Oak Ridge Baptist Church, we want to put you in the best position possible for this work, so we’ve gathered our top 7 tips for both strengthening your faith and sharing the gospel.

1.Let the Spirit Lead

First and foremost in both of these endeavors, ask for the Holy Spirit to guide you on your way. A surefire way to raise your own faith levels and reach out to others is allowing yourself to be a vessel for the Word of God and His love.

2. Take Part in the Church

A key way to strengthen your faith is being a part of the church family. Find different groups to join and connect with that will help build your spirit and develop your relationship with God. Here at ORBC, we offer lots of opportunities for this, such as our Sunday evening discipleship group, our Pastor’s Corner Wednesday worship time, and many others. Godly relationships with peers create a deeper faith base.

3. Plant the Seed

Whether or not someone willing takes you up on the offer to join your faith when you share the gospel, the best thing about the Word of God is that it’s like a seed. Plant it in a conversation and you have no idea how it could grow! No need to push anything or be too in-your-face, just allow the fruits of the Spirit to do their work.

4. Study and Apply

To make sure you’re keeping your faith in good condition, keep studying the Word and letting it take part in your life. Whether on your own or in one of our Bible study classes, being in the Word keeps your cup full and helps you share that learning with others.

5. Learn to Listen

An important part of evangelizing is realizing that you have to listen to a person’s story in order to be able to best share God’s love with them. When you learn to listen and really take in what another person is going through, God can show you how to speak to that and find the right words to get His message to that person.

6. Spend Time in Prayer

Strengthening your faith requires daily contact with God. Take time in your day to pray; thank him for the good, ask for guidance on the bad, and let Him speak to you and through you.

7. Live a Godly Life

The biggest way to share the gospel is to highlight it through your own life. Live a life that is Christ-like. Be good to others, lead a biblically sound life, and share God’s love in every interaction.
